Providing independence and confidence with Burley's learning disability care

At the heart of our learning disability care service is our belief that our clients should be able to live the life they choose, without worrying about the small things. Burley’s can help them to realise their goals with a tailor-made service that works for them as an individual, recognising personal circumstances, needs and aspirations.

learning disability care

We’ll begin by chatting to our clients to find out how we can best put together a plan that suits them. We’ll also talk to any other people who are important in their life. Our aim is to discover how we can adapt to their lifestyle and preferred schedules, to help them live the independent life they deserve. There are lots of different ways we can do this.

We can assist with daily routines, such as showering or taking a bath, getting dressed in the morning or getting ready for bed in the evening. We can help with personal grooming such as shaving, brushing hair. We can prepare a hot meal or drink, support with medication routines, and check that their home is secure before they go to sleep at night.

We would be happy to carry out any domestic tasks that need doing too. We can clean, iron clothes, dust, do the laundry, make the bed, and vacuum the home.

Because we understand that being part of the local community is hugely important to many people who need learning disability care, we can join our clients when they want to go shopping, see friends and family, or take part in activities they enjoy. We can also accompany them to medical appointments, and we’ll be there whenever they simply want to see a friendly face.

By letting us look after individual, personal, domestic and daily needs, we can free up the time of our clients and allow them to put their energy into living the rewarding life they deserve.
