Dementia Home Care Support from Burley's
A dementia diagnosis can be a very difficult and frightening time for a person and their loved ones, at Burley’s Home Care we understand the impact of dementia and we believe that you can continue to live well with the right support and care. We pride ourselves on providing tailored dementia care that caters to the individual and specific requirements of each and every client we work with.
It is estimated that this year someone will develop dementia every three minutes, and by 2025 over 1 million of us will be living with dementia in some form. The term ‘dementia’ describes a set of symptoms of brain damage that affect different people in different ways, often through memory loss, difficulty with thinking, problem solving or language.
Experience in Dementia Care
A great many of our clients have dementia, and this means our staff have lots of experience in supporting people with the condition. We know from first-hand experience that the smallest of gestures can be a huge help for people with dementia; extra patience when completing daily tasks, familiar faces when staff come to visit, having the same repeated conversations, and sticking to set routines and patterns.
We are proud to be part of the Dementia Friends initiative, which means our staff have been trained by experts from the Alzheimer’s Society in dementia awareness and support. Clients with dementia may simply need support with day-to-day tasks around the home or have more complex needs requiring specialist care, and in all cases we are dedicated to developing a unique care plan that suits your individual needs.
Dementia Care Plan & Assessment
Every new client is personally welcomed by our Registered Care Manager Tasha, who goes through a thorough care plan and risk assessment to ensure we know exactly what a client needs and can deliver a personalised service. We also carry out regular reviews of the care plan to monitor any change in our clients' needs over time and to make sure our services are adjusted accordingly.
Some of the services our dementia care includes are:
- Support to live well, however dementia affects you and your family
- Getting you out of bed

- Assistance with medication
