The story behind Burley's Home Care
Burley’s Home Care was started in 2009 by Paul and Carly Burley, an idea born out of their experiences of not being given choices in how home or live in care is provided.
Carly was a committed carer who loved helping people but found she was unable to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with the individuals she cared for within the 30-minute slot allocated by her employer.
At this time Paul was trying to support his grandparents as they developed Parkinson’s and dementia. Initially they simply needed a friendly face, someone who understood their needs and could help them to continue to live at home together. However achieving this was complicated and stressful, and made even more challenging when most advice being offered was to opt for a care home.

Our approach to caring for individuals
Often people feel they are only being presented with one option, but there is no single approach to caring for someone. At Burley’s Home Care we believe that individuals should be supported to live independently for as long as possible, with their habits, needs and lifestyles being respected at all stages of life.
From our very first day, we have always supported families as a whole, providing high quality services whilst helping them to navigate through the minefield of information around arranging local home or live in care.
We aim to give simple, straightforward, tailored services to anyone in need of care and support at home by putting them first.
What we consider to be ‘care’ covers a broad spectrum of activities. For example, we will complete all the usual tasks such as; managing medications, helping people get washed and dressed, preparing meals, running errands and completing household chores. In addition, we also love to go above and beyond by carrying out special tasks that enrich the life of the individual. Some of our best examples include; helping individuals to attend special events such as weddings, enjoy socialising with friends and watching live sporting events or attending concerts.

Burley's home care in today's world
Over the last 10 years the Burley’s Home Care team has grown, and so too has its reputation for delivering good old-fashioned compassionate care services in the local community.
For the last two years we have been named as one of the top 20 home care providers in the UK. Burley’s have also been recognised by a local council for offering outstanding customer service in Dorset and Hampshire.
Its not just our home and live in care services that win awards, our staff training and support program is also celebrated within the care sector.
We put our success down to the team of dedicated, caring staff who all share our simple values of putting the needs of the individual at the heart of their care plan.
