My wife Carly and I established Burley’s Home Care in 2009. With years of experience in providing home care both personally and professionally between us, we knew first-hand the difference it makes to have high-quality, trusted carers available to support you in your own home.
Over the last decade the company has grown to a team of caring, experienced professionals who love what they do. Our values are what define us as a team and can be seen in our actions every day. Working this way is how we ensure we provide high quality home care that delivers excellent outcomes for our clients.
We create an environment that attracts and retains caring people, providing training, skills and support for a strong and happy team. We value everyone as individuals, recognising that everyone has a part to play and can make a difference. Working together is an essential part of how we have built such a strong local reputation, and it means our carers are equipped with the expertise and the confidence they need to be happy in their work and provide the best levels of care possible.
There is no single approach to care; every one of our clients is an individual and we treat each of them with dignity and respect at every visit, with consideration for their wishes, rights and beliefs. It is part of our job to be mindful of people’s differences, and to improve a person’s wellbeing and quality of life to the standards they set for themselves, so they can feel fulfilled and contented.
Each of our clients is unique, and so are we! We pride ourselves on delivering a ‘good old fashioned’ level of service you won’t find anywhere else because we don’t believe in a one size fits all approach.
We invest time and training into ensuring we have a skilled workforce who can provide effective care that improves a person’s quality of life. We ensure our staff are all trained to national standards as well as offering extra support where needed, and we also value life experience too. Those who have skills from different careers or from many years of providing care all bring their own qualities.
We believe that compassion and kindness are as important as experience and skills in providing care that improves a person’s wellbeing. We take the time to plan our care and activities for people so that we can tailor our care delivery to their needs.
We are passionate about our core values, and our commitment to our clients and their wellbeing. We do not offer 15 minute appointments, for example, because we don’t think they are effective for clients or staff.
We treat our clients as we would our own friends and family, we are part of their community and each visit is about providing connection as much as providing care. We assist our clients to remain independent by working closely with their family, friends, neighbours and community partners.
As well as supporting clients, it’s our job to simply listen and let them know they are not alone. Living with health conditions or the effects of getting older can be difficult to get used to, and part of our job is to help people with that. Our experience helps us to actively listen so that we can be understanding and empathetic to whatever a person is going through, to help them find solutions that suit them and involve them in decisions that affect them.
We know some days are harder than others, and we are here to support our clients through the bad days as much as the good. Being a friend to someone is just as important as the support we provide to people with physical activities or household tasks.
