Initial Hands-On Training

When you join the. Burley’s care team, you will begin your care worker training in our Ringwood head office following a hands-on induction training program. The care assistant training you will receive has been specifically designed to prepare you for real-world

Ensuring Safety – Care Management With Peace Of Mind

In addition to our initial hands on training, we provide a structured 12-week Care Certificate program. The program is a nationally recognised training for carers that has been tailored to educate you on the 15 core standards of the care industry. Throughout the 12 weeks, you will cover essential topics such as:

Understanding your role as a carer

Personal development

Communication skills

Equality and diversity

Safeguarding adults and children

Health and safety in care settings

By the end of the program, you will have a solid understanding in care that meets the high standards expected across the industry.

Free Uniform and Essential Equipment

This uniform not only ensures you are easily identifiable as a Burley’s Care team member but also fosters a sense of pride and belonging within our team.

Shadowing with a Care Mentor

One of the most effective ways to learn is through experience, and that’s why we incorporate shadowing into our carer training. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced caregiver who will guide you through the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the role. This hands-on learning approach allows you to observe best practices, ask questions, and gain insights from one of our senior care team.

Training on Our Care App

Our care app is an essential tool in the daily routines of our carers, and we want to make sure you are comfortable using the technology that supports our service users’ well-being. As part of your training, you will receive a detailed demonstration on how to use our care app. The app is essential for tracking and updating the team on the health and care needs of our service users. You will learn how to document care activities, monitor health metrics, and communicate effectively with the rest of the team.

Ongoing Training and Development

Your growth as a carer doesn’t stop once you’ve completed your mandatory training for carers. We are committed to your development and offer a range of follow-up training courses including stoma care training and complex care training. Additional courses are available once you have successfully passed your 3 month probation period and are designed to enhance your skills and expand your knowledge. We are committed to supporting the career growth of our carers and offer opportunities to advance into roles like Care Coordinator and Senior Carer.
